Escaping Winter
Hello From Japan, Another Wamble Update..….
Hi Friends!
We recently had the opportunity to escape Winter for 10 days. We went from massive amounts of snow, to a cute little city, to the beach, and finally to the BIG city. It was nice to remember what sun and warmth feels like again.
We started in..…..
YOKOHAMA, JAPAN
Our organization was hosting a 3 day leadership meeting there to seek the Lord together. It was really a blessing to see co-laborers from all over Japan. Each location carries a different expression of ministry but we came together to seek more unity and vision from the Lord to see more impact in the days to come.
We feel the Lord is bringing in a great harvest to Japan and unity amongst believers will carry the weight of this move.
We were also encouraged to be more diligent as an organization to press into learning the language more intentionally-— because how will they hear if we can’t speak.
In Hokkaido we have been taking classes with the city twice a month, doing self-study, and Jon is also taking an in-person lesson each week. Since Japan doesn’t have many Christians yet, learning religious words takes an extra effort as it’s not usually a part of thier regular topics they discuss. Jon has been working toward trying to learn enough religious language to share the gospel.
We got to meet up with old friends and new ones!
They took us on an outing to explore China town.
After the meeting was over we took some time as a family to explore one of our favorite beach towns we used to visit about 40 minutes away ..…
Our view when we got off the train.
KAMAKURA, JAPAN
Kamakura is where surfing was first pioneered in Japan. It’s not quite like California but it’s probably the closest thing to it on mainland. We love exploring new little areas and meeting new people. It’s also fun because while you are near the beach you can still move around on trains and get to the city relatively quickly too.
Unfortunately not pictured here (above or below) but Mt.Fuji is in the background and this is where the famous great wave of Kanagawa painting is inspired from.
After yummy BBQ food, cute coffee shops and ocean views for a day we made our way to the BIG CITY..….
Tokyo, Japan
It was our first time back in the city since we moved to Hokkado. We wanted to visit a church that does street preaching in the park to see how they do it.
It used to be said that Japan is the graveyard for missionaries but it’s not true anymore and this church is being used to prove it.
We were really encouraged to see that when you step out of social media and into reality things feel much simpler. What we took away from our time there is that anyone can do it.
It is not about being really good at speaking. It’s about being faithful, consistent, and showing up. If we are scared, do it scared. If we are bold, do it boldly. It is only our job to be obedient to share the word of God but He is the one who waters the seed. He is the one who saves.
We left this trip feeling really inspired to see what God will continue to do in us and in Japan!
Avi chose to join in at the park and sing!
And lastly, for a more personal update..…
